7th Annual Filipino Festival
Mabuhay! Traditionally held the second weekend in August, the 7th Annual Filipino Festival starts Friday, August 10 at 5pm to 10pm and on Saturday, August 11 from 10am to 10pm. Celebrate the richness of the Philippines without leaving Virginia! Enjoy authentic cuisine such as lumpia, pancit, adobo, lecho, halo-halo, San Miguel beer and more. The BAND LINE-UP includes Janet Martin, Cedar Creek, Keith Horne, D’Originals, McGill Jackson, Five & Dimers, and TH. Special performances by Latin Ballet of Virginia. Plus fun, Filipino line-dancing!
The traditional, cultural program will include exhibitions and entertainment by local and regional Filipino artists and youths. There will be health screenings, kiddie games, crafts, jewerly, lots of vendors, and more. Consular staff from the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. will be available to process travel documents to the Philippines and to hold oath-swearing ceremony.
In just a few short years, attendance has grown to approximately 10,000 visitors making our Festival one of the largest Filipino Festivals in the United States.
ADMISSION IS FREE although $2 donation is greatly apprecaited. The Festival is sponsored by and held on the grounds of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 8200 Woodman Road, Richmond. Proceeds benefit local charities including food pantries, clothes closets, scholarships, and the Lakeside Free Clinic.
