The Legend of the Poinsettia

January 6-8

“The Legend of the Poinsettia” will be performed by The Latin Ballet of Virginia at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Road, Glen Allen Friday, Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7 at 3 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 8 at 3 p.m. “The Legend of the Poinsettia” is a story based on the Mexican legend about a pure hearted young girl who discovers the true spirit of giving. This is a traditional story in the Latin American holiday season. Unable to offer a gift of material value, she picks a handful of weeds that magically transform into brilliant crimson flowers and thus the custom of giving poinsettias during the holidays is born. Tickets can be ordered by electronic ticket order (at no extra charge) through the Latin Ballet website, at (804) 379-2555; $20 adults, $15 children, students, seniors and military. Group tickets discount available for groups of 10 or more at $10; 20 or more, $7.
