New Kent man arrested for Mechanicsville robbery

Surveillance footage shows the man suspected of robbing a Mechanicsville convenience store.

Hanover authorities have arrested Christopher Davis in connection to a Mechanicsville convenience store robbery.

The Hanover Sheriff’s Office arrested the man suspected of robbing a Mechanicsville convenience store this morning just hours after seeking the public’s help.

In a notice to media outlets, Sgt. Chris Whitley said that Hanover authorities arrested Christopher T. Davis, 35, of the 5300 block of Mollie Schools Lane in New Kent, in connection to the robbery .  Davis was located by Hanover investigators at a residence in the 2900 block of Stone Meadow Court in Henrico County where he was taken into custody without incident.

At approximately 5:15 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6500 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike for a report of a robbery.  Upon arrival, authorities determined that the suspect robbed a clerk of an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. No weapon was displayed and no one was injured in the robbery.

Whitley thanked the public and local media for assisting the HCSO with a quick arrest.

Davis is in the process of being transported to Pamunkey Regional Jail in Hanover County where he will be charged with one count of robbery.
