Aug. 7, a Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury indicted Todd Attkisson, president and CEO of Ashland Rolling Mills, on nine counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor.

Attkisson appeared in Henrico Circuit Court Aug. 19 where a judge set his bond and ordered him not to have contact with the now 19-year-old victim. According to published reports, he was arrested last Friday and was released Monday after posting bond.

According to the indictments, the acts allegedly took place in Henrico with a teenage girl between Nov. 2, 2008 and Jan. 31, 2011. The indictments charge that Attkisson maintained a custodial or supervisory relationship over the victim, who was 15 at the time of the first alleged incident.

Reached Tuesday, Attkisson’s attorney, Eddie R. Vaughn Jr., declined to make any statement on his client’s behalf. Attkisson is scheduled to appear back in court next week.

The business Attkisson leads, Ashland Roller Mills, has roots in Hanover that extend back to 1740. The Attkisson family has been involved with the business since the late 1940s and purchased the mill in 1954.
