Trial date to be set in September for Ashland business CEO
A trial date will be set in September for an Ashland business leader, who faces nine charges for alleged sexual contact with an underage girl.
Todd Attkisson, president and CEO of Ashland Rolling Mills, appeared in the Henrico Circuit Court Thursday morning, where Judge Richard S. Wallerstein Jr. set his next court date for Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
Aug. 7 he was charged on nine counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor in Henrico between Nov.2, 2008 and Jan. 31, 2011, according to the indictments. At the time of the alleged first incident, the girl was 15 years old.
Attkisson will continue on bond that was set by a judge in court Aug. 19.
Ashland Rolling Mills has been a Hanover staple since 1740 and the Attkissons’ involvement with the business dates back to the 1940s when his family began operating the facility. The Attkisson family purchased the mill in 1954.
