Authorities believe a 29-year-old Henrico man tied to a spree of robberies in Henrico County last month was also behind two recent incidents in Hanover and Ashland.

Oct. 4, Henrico officials announced the arrest of Lemonn Benjamin Hill, 29, suspected of robbing six hotels in Henrico County in September. In each incident, the suspect indicated he had a weapon and made demands via a note he gave to employees. In all but one incident, the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Town of Ashland Police developed a suspect vehicle description from a motel robbery last Thursday in the 100 block of South Carter Road.

The same suspect was tied to the robbery of a commercial business in Hanover County in the 10100 block of Lewistown Road Sept. 27. Hanover Detectives recovered forensic evidence left at the scene, which authorities say was critical to developing Hill as the suspect.

Authorities from Henrico , Hanover, Ashland , and Chesterfield located the suspect vehicle in Richmond. Oct. 2, Henrico detectives witnessed the robbery suspect driving the same vehicle. Detectives stopped the vehicle at Cox Road and Innslake Drive and took Hill into custody.

“In less than a week since last Friday’s robbery of a convenience store on Lewistown Road, investigators from Hanover, Henrico, and Ashland were able to solve this case, as well as a series of other recent robberies,” said Lt. Chris Whitley, of the Hanover Sheriff’s Office. “Solid teamwork with our law enforcement partners in Henrico and Ashland made such a quick arrest possible.”

Hill has been charged in Hanover County with robbery, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, related to the Sept. 27 incident. In Henrico, Hill faces charges of robbery, attempted robbery, and two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, relating to incidents that occurred Sept. 25 in the 400 block of International Center Drive and the 5200 block of Williamsburg Road. Henrico investigators continue looking into four other hotel robberies that occurred between Sept. 22 and Sept. 30

Warrants for robbery are pending in Ashland.
