Authorities have arrested a second man in connection to the Oct. 10 armed robbery in the Brandy Hill apartment complex in Mechanicsville.

In a statement released Oct. 28, Lt. Chris Whitley, of the Hanover Sheriff’s Office, said Devonte A. James, 21, of the 2300 block of Carlisle Avenue in Henrico County, had been located and arrested in connection to the robbery. He has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to use a firearm in the commission of a felony.

“We would like to extend our appreciation to the public and media for their assistance during this investigation, as well as to the Richmond Police Department for apprehending James,” Whitley said.

The arrest of James, follows that of another suspect allegedly tied to the Oct. 10 incident. Hanover investigators previously announced the arrest of Ryan M. Davis, 24, of Mechanicsville, for conspiracy to commit robbery.  Davis was originally one of the three identified victims in this case, but investigators determined that he conspired with others to facilitate the robbery of the other two individuals.
