‘Bop to Adopt’ dance, silent auction supports Dowda family

Are you looking for something fun to do for Valentine’s Day? Why not dress up your favorite princes and princesses and take them to a special event right here in Mechanicsville – “Bop to Adopt.” Feb. 15, the MOMS Club of Mechanicsville, Cool Spring is having a “Bop to Adopt” Family Dance and Silent Auction from 4:30-7 p.m. at Chickahominy Middle School, hosted by GCPC, to raise money for adoption fees for the Dowda Family.

The event will feature music, face painting, games, as well as a special appearance by Jonathan the Juggler. Local businesses have been quite generous with donations of goods and services. Pizza and snacks will be provided. Silent auction items include massages, event tickets, date night packages, even a timeshare to Orlando and a six-bedroom house at Wintergreen! We will also be raffling off an iPad!

Advance tickets to the dance are only $10 per person or just $25 for a whole family. Family tickets will be sold at the door on the night of the event for $30. All proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction will directly benefit the Dowda family with their adoption fees. For questions, to purchase tickets, or to make a donation, please contact Ashley Borders at CoolSpringMOMS@gmail.com.
