Hanover authorities with help from the Richmond Police Department today located a missing Mechanicsville teenager.
According to Lt. Chris Whitley of the Hanover Sheriff’s Office, Tamara N. Collins, who was last seen Jan. 9, was located and found to be in good condition shortly after noon today. She was safely returned to her residence in Mechanicsville. Based upon a tip from a citizen, Hanover investigators were able to determine that Collins was at a residence in the City of Richmond, where she was located with the assistance of the Richmond Police Department.
“The Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our sincere appreciation the media for their efforts in quickly communicating this information to the public, which generated the tip that led to Collins’ safe recovery,” Whitley said. “We would also like thank the Richmond Police Department, as well as the public, for their direct assistance.”
Whitley notified media that Collins had gone missing Thursday evening, a week after she had last been seen. No foul play was suspected in the incident.
