Miss Ashland Pageant accepting entries
This March, local girls will compete for the title of “Miss Ashland” while helping raise money for cancer research.
Local nonprofit Wine For Cures is accepting entries for the inaugural Miss Ashland Scholarship Pageant, set for March 8 at Patrick Henry High School.
The purpose of the pageant is to provide education and training scholarships for the winners while raising funds for cancer research through the non-profit organization Wine For Cures.
The program provides an opportunity for young ladies to develop poise, confidence and stage presence while enhancing conversation and interview skills and public speaking ability.
This fun, natural, personality scholarship pageant is open to all Hanover County young ladies in four age brackets: Miss, ages 18-21; Teens, ages 13-17; Preteens, ages 9-12; and Little Miss, ages 5-8.
The four winners in each division will participate in Hanover County events, festivals, parades, community service projects, and will act as ambassadors to the community through the Miss Ashland Program.
Winners will also receive an official crown, sash, crown pin, signature photo cards, scholarship, parade car signs and other gifts. There will be runners-up awards, too. All details will be announced at rehearsal. All scholarship amounts and awards depend on the number of contestants in each age division.
The deadline for entries is Feb. 14. Download entry forms at www.missashland.org and submit completed forms by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to P.O. Box 1947, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
