Editorial: Quit the fingerpointing
On the opposite page this week, Del. Chris Peace makes his case for passing a state budget unadulterated by any sort of Medicaid expansion.
The state’s top-notch education system, he says, is at jeopardy, as the rift between the House and Senate over Medicaid deepens.
No one’s arguing against that point – we do have excellent schools and it would be a travesty to leave them without funding for the next school year.
However, he says the governor and Senate Democrats are to blame. The leading plan put forward in the Senate to expand health care was drafted by a Republican. Both parties are to blame for the current impasse.
Quit the fingerpointing and fix it.
