Patriots standout commits to UVa
Childhood dreams do come true.
Patrick Henry’s Eli Hanback committed over the weekend to play collegiately for the University of Virginia where he could see action on either side of the ball as a lineman.
Eli Hanback, one of the bright spots of Patrick Henry football during a tough period, has been rewarded for his dedication and hard work, announcing over the weekend he has committed to play collegiately for the University of Virginia.
For every current recruit to the Cavaliers, the first question normally asked regards the uncertainty surrounding the program and its head coach Mike London. Virginia finished 2-10 last year and expectations are not high amongst the fan base.
It doesn’t bother Hanback, who’s dreamed about this moment for years.
“UVa is such a great school for both sports and academics, so I believe attending there is a win-win,” Hanback explained. “I’ve been a Cavalier fan my whole life, and my dream has been to one day play for UVa. Coach London is a great coach, and I believe the staff is behind him 100 percent, so I’m not concerned.”
