Henry District Supervisor Sean Davis will hold a Community Meeting regarding the 2014 budget process and school funding, public safety, and general state of affairs relating to Hanover County Tuesday, Jan. 29. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Rural Point Elementary School cafeteria.
During the town hall-style meeting, Davis will give a brief overview of the county’s preliminary budget status and revenue challenges, as well as highlight opportunities for citizen involvement. Henry District School Board representative Mr. Earl Hunter and Dr. Daryl Chesley, Hanover County Schools, assistant superintendent of instruction, will then provide information and answer questions regarding the school budget. An important component of Davis’ meeting will be providing opportunities for citizens’ input and feedback.
“It is crucial that the citizens have an opportunity to share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas for the future of Hanover County,” Davis said. “While we recognize these extremely difficult times, we must ensure that our citizens know their government is open, receptive, and responsive. I want to provide an opportunity for everyone to participate. It is my sincerest hope that those who desire to be involved have the greatest opportunity to do so.”
