February 15-17

Returning a longtime antiques and fine arts tradition to Richmond’s Science Museum of Virginia, the new Art, Antiques and Design in Richmond, will be held Feb. 15-17. More than 30 dealers from nine states will exhibit antique items ranging from period Virginia and European furniture, early glassware, paintings, prints, and decorative accessories to art deco and architectural antiques. A Friday night wine and hors d’oeuvres preview from 6-9 p.m. will benefit the VCU Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center. General show hours will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The science Museum of Virginia is located at, 2500 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA.

Rachel Reynolds will sign copies of her book “Four Seasons for Charlotte” and lead a discussion; book signing from noon to 4 p.m.; author discussion at 2 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 9850 Brook Road in Glen Allen. A portion of book sales will directly benefit CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation.

Hanover Tavern will host Doug Batson in a free first-person interpretation of D. H. Hill in the Seven Days Battles at 7 p.m. The long wait began in Hanover County, but once underway, D. H. The 2013 Relay For Life will hold a team captain meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Ashland Firehouse, 201 Archie Cannon Road. Center for Creative Development, Inc. presents “The Meeting” featuring Tony Cosby and Theatre & Co. Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at Hanover High School, 10307 Chamberlayne Road, Mechanicsville. History comes alive! A debate of the American Conscience! What if Dr. King and Malcolm X had met? At stake–the future of the civil rights movement! The Independence Ruritan Club will be having their semi-annual Brunswick Stew sale Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Ruritan Clubhouse located behind Independence Christian Church, 14023 Independence Road (off Route 54 west of Ashland).
