Will Atlee football’s climb to the top continue?

In 2007, Atlee football was a rather dormant experience. Now, in the eighth season of Roscoe Johnson’s tenure as head coach, Atlee football is the place to be. But the jam-packed skybox overlooking the left end zone would have never been without the promise of Johnson coming true: a slow, steady climb to prominence, and to the top.

  • Sophomore QB will lead 2014 Hawks

    Sophomore Clayton Cheatham has been tapped as starting quarterback for the Hawks.

    Now, as 2014 dawns, the Hawks not only move on from departed seniors such as Brennan Gary and Scott Denton, but they also lose Jalen Elliott, a two-sport star (basketball) who saw time at running back, wide receiver and quarterback last year.

  • Volleyball preview: Atlee returns a defending state champ

    Atlee senior Maddie French spikes over Douglas Freeman’s Kerry Baumann during Tuesday night’s 3-0 homecourt win in Mechancisville.  French is one of a group of players to return from last year’s state championship team.

    The defending state champions began 2014 on the right foot, but not without a few stumbles along the way. The Atlee Raiders girls volleyball team began defense of their first state title Tuesday night with a 3-0 win at home over Douglas Freeman.
