Through May 31 Randolph-Macon College hosts “Hidden Hanover” at Flippo Gallery featuring a selection of works from the last three years that display sites in the county that are hidden from plain view and represent special areas of resurgence and change in the landscape. Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment. Flippo Gallery, Pace-Armistead Hall (211 N. Center Street, Ashland). Free and open to the public.

  • Tomato Festival accepting applications for Tiny Miss/Little Miss pageant

    Applications are being accepted for the 2015 Tiny Miss and Little Miss Tomato Festival pageant.

    What little girl doesn’t love tiaras, dresses, and tomatoes? Even if she doesn’t go for the fruit, she may still be eligible to participate in the 2015 Tiny Miss/Little Miss Hanover Tomato Festival pageant. The Hanover Tomato Festival is now accepting applications for the Tiny Miss and Little Miss Hanover Tomato Pageant. The pageant and reception will take place on Saturday, June 27, at East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad. Entry

  • Taylor’s Family Fishing FUN event set June 6

  • Fundraiser for Mechanicsville man set June 4

    A fundraiser for Brent Tucker will be held Thursday, June 4, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Riverbound Café, located at 8005 Creighton Pkwy, Unit K, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Brent was seriously injured in an automobile accident May 14. He suffered severe brain trauma along with extensive facial damage and all did not look well. After nine long hours, news came that Tucker was stable and surgery went well.
