      NASCAR returns to Richmond Friday, April 25, to kick off two nights of racing “under the lights.” Your April 25th ticket includes TWO races for ONE low price. See the NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers beating and banging in a night of old-school, short track racing in the ToyotaCare 250. And the fun doesn’t stop there, because the BLUE OX 100 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East is also included.       Come race the rail at one of Central Virginia’s longest established road races! This certified 10k race is a favorite spring ritual among runners from across the Commonwealth and beyond! This is our 6th year as a GREEN race – and the Green Fair will be back again this year on the lawn! Start and finish “on the tracks” in our picturesque railroad town, known as the “Center of the Universe”! Other events include a 5k Walk/Run,1 Mile Kid’s Fun Run, and the COTU Challenge-race both the 5k and 10k. 10K-$25, 5K-$20, Kid’s 1 Mile – $10, COTU Challenge – $35. All prices go up $5 on race day.     2. Historic Garden Week in Virginia – Ashland and Western Hanover

      Conveniently located within minutes of Short Pump/Western Richmond, this home and garden tour of Western Hanover and the Rockville area offers something for everyone – horse farms built in1890 with new additions, a log cabin built in the 1700s, a working farm with a brick manor built in 1974 that includes a classic car collection, boulders from an ancient ridge of volcanoes, magnificent hardwood shade trees and gardens, and master gardeners to answer garden questions.

      This show will exhibit new works of the artists represented with Gallery Flux. The ‘Paw for a Cause’ Silent Auction and Exhibition, benefiting the Hanover Humane Society, will be held during the opening on May 1. There will also be a live demonstration of the casting process by Gallery Artist, Helene Roberts (June 5 at the second opening).

      Dual Recovery Anonymous is for those seeking relief from an emotional or mental disorder & a co-occurring substance abuse problem.

      The group is peer run, meaning that it is run by people with a mental illness and substance abuse history.

      The Ashland Community National Day of Prayer invites you join us for our 6th year of celebration and prayer for the observance of the National Day of Prayer. This is a community event that is free and everyone is welcome!

       

      Please come out for this special once a year program of praise, prayer, and music and show your support of being “One Voice United in Prayer.” We hope to see you on the “lawn” of the Ashland Town Hall, 101 Thompson Street, Ashland, VA 23005 on May 1st at 7:00 p.m. Come rain or shine and please bring a lawn chair or blanket.
