    1. Reynolds to host 11th Annual Science Night
      6:30 am – 8:30 am

      Reynolds Community College will host their

      11th Annual Science Night on Wednesday, March 18th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Lipman Auditorium of the Massey Library Technology Center on the Parham Road Campus, located at 1651 E. Parham Road in Richmond. This event is free and open to the public.

       

      This year, Science Night will include three panel discussions from Reynolds’ science professors, Dr. William Mott, Professor Shalini Upadhyaya, and Dr. Jerrod Hunter. The three professors will delve into various science topics including, “Making Sense of Senescene: Aging with Dignity, Style, Grace and Confidence,” “Just in Case You Need It: An immigrants humble request to stay ahead of the game,” and “Mouse Party: The Neuroscience of drugs and abuse.”

       

      Aside from panel discussions, there will also be hands-on activities for participants of the event. The hands-on activities will include physics demonstrations as well as opportunities to learn about scientific research that is being conducted by Reynolds faculty. There will be light refreshments served throughout the night, provided bythe Culinary Arts Program at Reynolds.

      Dual Recovery Anonymous meets Thursdays at the Thomas Hale Education Center at Sunrise House.

      Dual Recovery Anonymous is for those seeking relief from an emotional or mental disorder & a co-occurring substance abuse problem.

      The group is peer run, meaning that it is run by people with a mental illness and substance abuse history.

      This excellent group supports people with both mental illness and substance abuse history. Please join us for fellowship in the 12-step tradition. There are no fees, registration forms or advanced notice necessary!
