      The 9th annual HHMI will be presented at the HHS Stadium, rain or shine. Hosted by the Hanover High Band Boosters, this event will feature 20+ marching bands from across the state (schedule TBA). Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children (age 3-12) and seniors (55+) and free for children 2 and under. Concessions will be available.

    3. Music & Food Festival @ Salem Christian School (Goochland County, Crozier, VA)

      Come out to Goochland County, VA to see “Love in Action” at the ninth annual Fall Food and Music Festival on Saturday, October 12 at Salem Christian School, Crozier, VA. Join us for great Christian music, delicious food, fun family activities, and fellowship. There will be free music performed by our preschool three and four year olds, elementary students, as well as the middle and high school chorus. There will also be a bake sale, children’s games, hay rides, fruit of the Spirit train rides, face painting, activities, and more. We will be serving single-breaded oysters, barbeque, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs. Meal tickets may be purchased ahead of time through the school office or the day of the event. The activities will start at 10 am and end at 2 pm. We will also have an indoor yard sale from 8 am to 2 pm. All proceeds benefit Salem Christian School. The Parade of Homes begins on October 5 and will run for the first three weekends of the month. Tour the best new homes in the area for free! There will be 60 new homes and 1 remodeled home built by 27 builder members in this year’s show, and more than half are decorated models.     1. Minority Political Leadership Institute Now Accepting Applications!

      The Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute is now accepting applications for its Minority Political Leadership Institute (MPLI). The Minority Political Leadership Institute (MPLI) is a collaborative initiative of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus Foundation and The Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University. MPLI is an intensive seven-month experience designed to promote leadership development for all individuals interested in issues important to minority communities including: community economics, political climate, civic engagement, and racial equity. MPLI offers insights regarding leadership legacy and culture, personal leadership, policy and legislative processes, responsible stewardship, public service, and integrity for future leaders. Each program year participants engage and interact with communities across Virginia and learn about unique strengths and issues facing different regions of the Commonwealth.
