      During the month of August, participating Monkey Joe’s locations will be collecting donations to support the American Heart Association through Active Kids = Healthy Hearts, a campaign first created last year by Monkey Joe’s to promote a more active lifestyle for children. Donations received during the month of August will benefit the cardiovascular health of children through programs such as Jump Rope for Heart, Hoops for Heart and additional children’s health initiatives.

    2. Big Muddy Challenge
      9:00 am – 3:00 pm

      Get excited for Richmond’s first ever Big Muddy Challenge! A 2 mile, 12 obstacle course, designed for families with kids ages 6 and up to have fun and compete together. Obstacles include army crawling under netting, maneuvering through a spider web of string and running through a pool of mud. Are any of your kids too young for the challenge?     2. Cooking Class Open House
      12:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Stop by for an Open House and learn all about what goes on in the Cooking School. Try a few of Southern Season’s favorite southern snacks (Virginia peanuts, anyone?) while the Cooking School Staff showcases some of their most beloved recipes. Stop by to see how the Cooking School can help inspire some culinary creativity in your kitchen. The Open House will last until 5 p.m.

      The Cooking School Staff is turning the kitchen into a classroom with an interactive adventure through Italy. Let your kids find confidence in the kitchen with delicious Italian dishes the entire family will enjoy. So maybe next time you’re craving Italian, let the kids get cooking. For kids ages 6 to 9. Menu: Caesar Salad with Homemade Dressing; Spaghetti with Homemade Sauce; Garlic Bread Sticks; Cannoli
