      Pokemon Championship

      Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and video game players, their supporters, and Pokémon fans from around the East Coast are invited to attend the 2013 Pokémon Winter Regional Championships the weekend of January 19th and 20th. The DoubleTree Richmond Airport is hosting the free event where competitors will vie for the coveted title of Pokémon Winter Regional Champion and travel awards to the 2013 Pokémon U.S. Nationals Championships, taking place July 5th–7th in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Pokémon TCG Regional Championship begin Saturday, January 19th at 8:00 a.m. while the Video Game Championship will be held in its entirety on Sunday, January 20th starting at 8:00 a.m. Players of all ages and skill levels in good standing are encouraged to participate in the family-friendly event.       • Student’s (and spouse’s) 2012 Federal Income Tax Return – IRS Form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ
      • Parents’ 2012 Federal Income Tax Return (if student is dependent for federal aid purposes) or most recent tax return & 12/31 pay stub
      • Family’s 2012 untaxed income records – Social Security, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, or veterans benefits records
      • Family’s current bank statements
      • Family’s current business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records,stock, bond, and other investment
      records
      • Student’s alien registration card (if not a U.S.  citizen)

      If 2012 tax returns are unavailable, bring 2011 tax returns.

    1. HBAR 2013 Local Economic Forecast
      8:00 am – 10:30 am

      The Home Building Association of Richmond (HBAR) will present its annual Local Forecast Seminar about the new home building industry in the Richmond region. Join HBAR on Thursday, February 7th for insightful presentations on housing and economic trends in the Richmond region. Among the topics that will be addressed include economic activity and forecast, employment activity, home pricing and affordability, policy issues, housing starts, design trends for new homes, market share by price range, sales figures, and existing inventory statistics. Plus, the top 10 subdivisions of 2012 will be revealed.

      The local forecast seminar will feature presentations by Dr. David Crowe, Chief Economist and Senior Vice President, of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Lloyd Poe of LifeStyle Builders & Developers. Crowe will discuss economic trends affecting the local housing market and Poe will discuss new home design trends.

      Mr. Alex Nyerges, Director of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, will be joining Virginia Art Chat on Saturday, April 13th 2013 at 3:00 p.m presenting a program entitled “Virginia is Our First Name” featuring Virginia artists from the VMFA collection and contemporary Virginia artists.
      The presentation will be followed by a reception. All are welcome, the event is free of charge.
