    1. SJ Live Acoustic Show at Lulus Creamery
      7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      As part of his U.S. ”Coffee Tour,” SJ will perform at Lulus Creamery in Ashland on October 11th from 7-9pm.

      SJ is an international award-winning and U.S. Top 10 radio charting acoustic singer-songwriter, and business/entertainment lawyer. In 2009, SJ left his law career to pursue his music passion.

      Independently launched through his self-started music companies (acousticsoulgroup.com), SJ’s first commercial releases over 2011-12 either won or were nominated for 15 independent music awards in the U.S. and U.K., and SJ was nominated by Sirius XM The Coffeehouse satellite radio as a “Discovery of the Year”.

      In 2012, SJ released his first commercial LP, “Coffee: Strong Brew Edition,” whose first single “Let Me Be” is climbing the Mediabase A/C and Hot A/C radio charts (top 40) and spinning in over 20 AAA & Americana radio stations.

    1. Hanover Hawk Marching Invitational
      10:00 am – 5:00 pm

      The 8th annual Hanover Hawk Marching Invitational will be presented from 10am-5pm on Saturday, October 13, at the Hanover High School Stadium, rain or shine.  Sponsored by the Hanover High Band Boosters, the event will feature 20 marching bands from across the state performing in competition and including brass, woodwinds, percussion and color guard.  Concessions will be available.

    2. Music & Food Festival @ Salem Christian School (Goochland County, VA)
      10:00 am – 2:00 pm

      Come out to Goochland County, VA for the eighth annual Fall Food & Music Festival on Saturday, October 13th at Salem Christian School, Crozier, VA. Join us for great Christian music, delicious food, fun family activities, and fellowship. There will be free music, a bake sale, children’s games, hay rides, fruit of the Spirit train rides, face painting, activities, and more. We will be serving single-breaded oysters, BBQ, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs. Meal tickets may be purchased ahead of time through the school office or the day of the event. The activities will start at 10 am and end at 2 pm. We will also have an indoor YARD SALE from 8 am to 2 pm.       Ashland Firehouse Theater starts their Second Run Saturday series with a showing of Academy Award winner, Crash  The Second Run series will feature more recent movies that you might have missed seeing in the theater.  Show starts at 7:30 p.m., and it’s FREE!  Please note this movie is Rated R and is not suitable for children.

      Come learn about mediation at our CMG Mediation Week Fair.  There will be information and presentations throughout the day on mediation, collaborative law, parenting education and other ADR solutions like arbitration.  Our mediators, financial and mental health professionals will be available to answer your questions about the mediation process and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. This free event celebrates Mediation Week, October 15-19.

      Dual Recovery Anonymous is for those seeking relief from an emotional or mental disorder & a co-occurring substance abuse problem.

      The group is peer run, meaning that it is run by people with a mental illness and substance abuse history.
