    1. HBAR 2013 General Assembly Breakfast
      7:30 am – 9:00 am

      Richmond, Va (December 11, 2012) – The Home Building Association of Richmond (HBAR) will host its annual legislative breakfast with members of the Virginia General Assembly on January 7, 2013. This is an opportunity for HBAR members to speak directly with Senators and Delegates in an informal setting.

      Join HBAR for this exciting and informative event. Attendees can speak with members of the General Assembly about what issues are important to them and what they would like to see in 2013 to improve the housing industry. The General Assembly Breakfast is presented by Dominion Virginia Power and Balzer and Associates Inc.

      The General Assembly Breakfast event begins at 7:30am with breakfast and the program will start by 8:00am. The event will conclude at 9:00am.  Tickets are available for HBAR members and cost $50 per person. They must be purchased by Wednesday, January 2, 2013 and can be reserved online at www.hbar.org/events or by contacting Craig Toalson at 804.282.0400, ext. 8 or ctoalson@hbar.oeg.  This event will be held in the Empire Room at the Jefferson Hotel, located at 101 West Franklin Street, Richmond, Virginia 23220.

      A Virginia “first” – Art Exhibit with Opening Reception and Benefit for the Richmond SPCA by nationally acclaimed New Orleans artist, Martin LaBorde.

      From BEE Galleries in New Orleans, LaBorde’s wonderful works express the colorful imagery of the bayou with alligators, moons, stars, dogs, cats, hummingbirds and flowers with a central whimsical figure and mystical magician, Bodo.

      BEE Galleries is generously donating 15% of all sales to benefit The Richmond SPCA.   Light refreshments will be served.

      Meet the artist, Martin LaBorde and Cooper Vineyards’ Rosie, the 2013 Richmond SPCA mascot at this special event.

      Hanover Tavern will host Will Glasco of the Museum of the Confederacy at  7:00 PM for a free engaging talk titled: The Beau Ideal of a Soldier and Commander: Williams Wickham and the 4th Virginia Cavalry. Hanover County’s own Williams C. Wickham led the 4th in 59 separate engagements.       Pokemon Championship

      Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and video game players, their supporters, and Pokémon fans from around the East Coast are invited to attend the 2013 Pokémon Winter Regional Championships the weekend of January 19th and 20th. The DoubleTree Richmond Airport is hosting the free event where competitors will vie for the coveted title of Pokémon Winter Regional Champion and travel awards to the 2013 Pokémon U.S. Nationals Championships, taking place July 5th–7th in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Pokémon TCG Regional Championship begin Saturday, January 19th at 8:00 a.m. while the Video Game Championship will be held in its entirety on Sunday, January 20th starting at 8:00 a.m. Players of all ages and skill levels in good standing are encouraged to participate in the family-friendly event.
