  • Santa Paws Tree to benefit homeless animals in Hanover

During the month of December, Friends of Hanover Dog Parks is sponsoring a Santa Paws tree for the collection of donated items needed for animals housed at the Hanover County Pound.   • Rabies clinics slated

    All dogs and cats (including so-called ‘barn cats’) are required by law to be vaccinated for rabies at four months of age. You also must have tags and a valid license proving the vaccination. Hanover Animal Control makes it easy for people to get their pets vaccinated by holding rabies vaccination clinics throughout the fall and winter. Vaccines will be administered at a cost of $7 per dog or cat.

    The Hanover Humane Society truly went to the dogs when Chip, a former Humane Society pup, had his fifth birthday party at Hanover Humane’s facility in Ashland. Four of Chip’s siblings were able to join him for the party; his canine mom, Katie, and his brother, Ben, were not able to attend the festivities.
