HYSC collects 4,550 items from school supply drive

Thanks to the generosity of the Hanover community, local students started school with new backpacks, markers, notebooks and much more. The Hanover Youth Service Council’s (HYSC) 17th annual school supply drive collected over 4,550 school supplies. An additional 43 zipper binders were donated thanks to a grant provided by the Youth Philanthropy Project.     Adult Basic Education Adult Basic Education classes are designed to help adults improve their skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.     The Hanover Hawks Marching Invitational, or HHMI, welcomes high school marching bands from across Virginia each fall to compete and receive evaluations from adjudicators in areas such as marching, auxiliary, percussion, drum major and general effect.
