Beaverdam, Doswell and Montpelier – Debbie Murphy

March 26, 2015

As usual, there are plenty of things going on in our community for you to enjoy. Hope everyone is well and enjoying springtime!

The West Hanover Fox Hunters of Beaverdam will be holding their annual field trail for dogs (Foxhound hunt) March 25 – March 28. The headquarters will once again be at the Beaverdam Ruritan Park, 18002 Teman Road. There will be a Bench Show Wednesday night, March 25, at the Ruritan Park at 7 p.m. Guests are welcome to come and cheer on their favorite dog or handler. The hounds will be cast around daybreak each day beginning March 26. They ask that all their neighbors in the Beaverdam/Montpelier area be on the watch for dogs and participants that may be standing beside or crossing the roads. Participants and their vehicles may be positioned along the roadside. Participating hounds will have proper name collars, tracking collars, and large numbers on each side of their body for identification purposes. Please drive with caution when approaching parked trucks or moving dogs. Please do not pick up these dogs as they are being judged on their performance and will move on, if not distracted. If there is a serious problem, please call Hanover County Animal Control or the Hanover Sheriff’s Office who have been notified of this event. The assistance of all the landowners, Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and Hanover County Animal Control officers who will be helping with the field trial this year and those who have helped in the past are greatly appreciated. A big thanks to all of you!
