All are invited to the 170th anniversary celebration of the Mt Olivet Baptist Church in Beaverdam, Virginia, scheduled for October 15. Current members, former members, and the community at large are more than welcome to share in this celebration. The day begins with Sunday School at 9:45 and Worship at 11. Worship will include singing the hymns that the charter members would have sung for worship as well as contemporary music provided by the church’s Praise Team. We will also project video clips and pictures that highlight some of the rich heritage of ministry and fellowship that Mt Olivet has enjoyed over the past 17 decades. Following the worship service on October 15, and a BBQ lunch, the children will be able to play on an “Obstacle Course” as well as engage in other activities and games available on the property. A local band “South Hill Banks” will provide an hour-long program, starting at 2 on the afternoon of the anniversary. Weather permitting, all the afternoon events will be outside in the beauty of God’s creation. Please bring a lawn chair for your personal comfort to use for the outdoor concert!
