The Little Lion By Irene Ziegler February 1 – 26, 2016 Shows: 10:15 AM Theatre Tickets $12.50 Add $2.00 for lunch Grades 4 – 12 This world-premiere drama by playwright Irene Ziegler is based upon the book by Nancy Wright Beasley, who is also the author of the highly-acclaimed Izzy’s Fire: Finding Humanity in the Holocaust. Set in and around the Kovno Ghetto in Lithuania during World War II, this powerful story chronicles the struggle of a Jewish family to survive the Holocaust and the heroism of Laibale Gillman, a teenaged boy, known as the little lion, who never stopped fighting for freedom. After Rodin: The Contemporary Figure @ Gallery Flux

Inspired by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts upcoming exhibit, Rodin: Evolution of a Genius, Gallery Flux hopes to capitalize on the enthusiasm that this exciting show will bring to the surrounding area. Eleven artists were selected to participate, interpreting the human figure in a unique way, whether representational or impressionistic, using a wide variety of mediums including bronze, limestone, steel, plaster, paintings, and drawings. The vision for this show is to highlight how, After Rodin, artists have found inspiration in the beauty of his pieces and the splendor of the human figure.
