Richmond Poe Film Festival Saturday Short Films and Panels @ Byrd Theatre

Join us at the majestic Byrd Theatre for a day of Poe inspired films with panel discussions by film experts! 10:00 am: The Black Cat (Ulmer, 1934) and Fall of the House of Usher (Watson, 1928) followed by panel discussion “Poe in Black and White.” 1:00 pm: Extraordinary Tales (Garcia, 2014) followed by panel discussion “Animated Poe.” 3:00 pm: The Tell-Tale Heart (LaTier, 2016) and The Cask of Amontillado (Ciechanowski, 2015) followed by panel discussion “Challenges in making Poe Movies.” For tickets go to http://bit.ly/poefilmfest or call the museum at (804) 648-5523.

Meditation Workshop with Monica Rao @ Gallery Flux

MonicaRoaImagesmallIn this workshop, Monica Rao will spend the first 15 minutes sharing her personal story as well as how participants, through meditation and spiritual healing will engage with hands on experience and group discussion. This interactive hour long workshop will help participants find inner peace and inner silence in a way that the mind will endeavor to eliminate unwanted thoughts. The goal is to help everyone who is involved to find a state of a mindful, intuitive, fulfilled, grounded, joyful state of being. Ultimately, she aims to help people alleviate themselves of stress, anxiety, and illness so that they are able to find their inner talent and happiness.
