Hanover authorities have identified the man found dead in a Georgetown Road home Saturday as Braxton G. Vaughan, 25, of Sandston.

“We extend our sincerest condolences to the Vaughan family in their time of loss,” said Lt. Chris Whitley, of the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

Whitley said the Sheriff’s Office’s investigation is ongoing and no further updates were available at this time.

July 26, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 10000 block of Georgetown Road for report of an adult male that was unresponsive.

Hanover Fire-EMS attempted to revive the victim and later pronounced him dead at the scene. There were no obvious signs of trauma and no suspects are being sought at this time, Whitley said in a statement to media Saturday.

Investigators are evaluating all evidence in this case and are working closely with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at (804) 365-6140 or the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.  Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637 (CRIMES), using the keyword “iTip” followed by their tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
