A Richmond-man died last week in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate-295.
Virginia State Police identified the driver as Patrick Kennedy Corey, 64 of Richmond.
Sgt Keeli L. Hill of Virginia State Police, said preliminary investigation reveals that a 2015 Hyundai Elantra driven by Corey, was traveling northbound on Interstate 294 in the left lane and veered off the road on Wednesday, Jan. 8. The car hit the support for the CSX train track overpass and Corey succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
No one injured in Ashland accident
Ashland Police Department Officer Chip Watts said no one was injured during a collision Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Ashland.
Watts said officers responded to the interception of England Street and U.S. Rt. 1 for the report of a rear-end collision crash at 6:15 p.m. involving two vehicles occupied only by the drivers.
Neither driver required EMS transport from the scene. One driver was issued a summons for following too closely.
