P.H. Half Marathon attracts 1,300 runners

The fourth annual Patrick Henry Half Marathon last Saturday brought the running community together for one of the most unique races in the area.
With the blast of a cannon, more than 1,300 runners were sent off on a 13.1-mile trek through the country roads in Ashland, along the railroad tracks, and back through the 254-acre Poor Farm Park, where the race concluded.
The runners enjoyed historic Ashland scenery along the way and were given encouragement from spectators and race volunteers.
